Creating Next Generation Communities
We partner with K-12 schools in low-income communities to help young people design and deploy technology that tackles challenges right outside their door.
WHY WE EXIST
Food deserts, fragile infrastructure, and limited local resources hold many neighborhoods back. Empowr equips students with hands-on engineering, coding, and AI skills so they can create solutions the community owns and operates.
Our Model
-
Solution Oriented
Students start with a local pain point, then choose the technology that solves it.
-
School Partnerships
Projects run during class hours, using existing facilities, so every student can join.
-
Ownership
Completed projects stay in the community, managed by students and families.
-
Pathways
Graduates leave with industry-ready skills, a portfolio of real deployments, and connections to advanced training or apprenticeships.
Together we can turn neighborhoods into living classrooms—and give every child the power to build the future they deserve.
Early Results
100 percent of alumni pursue higher education or skilled careers
Empowr students graduate within the top 10% of their school
Our students earn industry certifications before the age of 16.

“What started as an impromptu pilot program from a conference conversation turned into an extremely meaningful experience for my MIT Digital Learning Lab colleagues and myself to work with these talented Empowr students in the summer. The Empowr student interns gained skills, confidence, and had concrete work outputs in courses that thousands of learners use each year.”
