Building Sustainable Communities
The world is changing, and we are adapting.
The Reframe
We are going through some changes. While our mission stays the same, we are changing the way we teach and interact with the communities we serve.
Empowr will continue to teach kids how to code, but we are changing the ways we teach it. Instead of focusing on having kids write scalable code, we are focusing on teaching students how to use technology to solve problems in their community.
We will teach kids how to code, train them to use AI, and engineer solutions to the issues they face today.
This coming year, Empowr will be building fully automated and self-sustaining hydroponic gardens as its Year One capstone project. Students will learn how to code, use AI, grow food, and architect the solution to food insecurity. Then, we will deploy it. Empowr's goal is to work with our students to build a scalable, self-sustaining garden that can feed the entire school.
At the end of the year, Empowr will also provide each student with all the necessary resources to build it at home.
Solving Food Inequality is not hard. The technology is there, but the motive isn't. Instead of waiting for someone to come and do it for us, we will do it ourselves.
Every year, Empowr will tackle a new problem that communities face and teach our students how to solve it. There is no reason for people to suffer in the world. There is no reason for us to be waiting for someone to save us. We have been given the resources to save ourselves. Empowr will teach our children how to take control of their communities by utilizing technology to build sustainable infrastructure.
The Next Five Years
By next year, we will be launching our program in a new city. We have achieved tremendous success in the schools with which we have partnered. It's time we bring this success to other communities. Empowr will focus on raising $5,000,000 to expand our program to over 15 new schools across five cities within the next five years. With our new programming, we will be able to impact over 15,000 families.
Can you imagine communities everywhere no longer worrying about where they will get their next meal because they have fresh food growing at the schools and in their backyard?
Can you imagine every child growing up knowing how to use technology to solve any problem they face?
Communities that can thrive on their own.
